Unity: Omaha Fashion Week F/W '23

During the Fall/Winter season in 2022, I was the headlining designer for the Fauna Designer Showcase for Omaha Fashion Week. I showcased a total of 9 looks, all centered around woven elements and the unity of both feminine and masculine elements. My collection was completely modular and had a total of 32 separate garments that can be interchanged to produce as many different looks as your heart desires.

Unity Collection

I created my Unity collection during the summer after my Junior year at Missouri State University. The collection consisted of 9 looks, all of which centered around woven elements and the push and pull of masculine and feminine details. All woven fabrics were cut, woven, and sewed together by hand to achieve the desired look. This collection is a cumulation of all my work during my time here at MSU, as my style has grown and matured through all the collections I have produced during my time here. I played with a more neutral color palette and focused on deep heavy makeup to accentuate the push and pull of opposites and how they can complement each other.

All looks are original designs and were patterned, prototyped, and constructed by me.

I was inspired by the push and pull of masculine and feminine motifs, and wanted to showcase that in an interesting way. I designed this collection with my signature street style in mind, but still refined that signature into a more mature and refined collection. I focused on weaving techniques and the different ways that the cargo pocket can be used as visual interest. I also used ties as visual interest- as a way to have adjustability and modularity be the focus of my collection.
